I used to sell my art at the flea markets of Los Angeles. More than once I remember hearing someone walking off telling their friend "I could make that." my response was, "wow, i'd love to see their work!". this song came from that place.
lyrics
Anyone Can Do That, they were saying
My grandma can do that
If Anyone Can Do That, then why don't you?
I got myself a pad of paper
I got my poster paints
I painted a bunch of pictures
Then I painted my dog
I made a couple of calls
I got the right connection
I had a little show this weekend
I think I will be famous
Some guys were standing there
Asking me "is that art?"
I said "I think it is"
I heard them remark
Anyone Can Do That, they were saying
My grandma can do that
If Anyone Can Do That, then why don't you?
I got my used guitar, I got my fender amp
My friends came to hear me play
I think they were impressed
I got a gig playing at a party
And I played my best song
I have a feeling I will be famous
They were singing along
Some kids were standing there
Questioning my art
I said "I think it's fine"
I heard them remark
Anyone Can Do That, they were saying
My grandma can do that
If Anyone Can Do That, then why don't you?
Anyone Can Do That, they were saying
My grandma can do that
If Anyone Can Do That, then why don't you?
